The Class Vol. I || Created by Josh Dulatre and Geremy Campos
The amount of hours, days, months spent to create this tiny little baby with Josh has been a truly gratifying experience. The creation of this zine, The Class, came from the idea of exposing a broader audience of people to new artists, designers, labels because...you have to admit, there is a lack of forward thinking material out there to review. I've been so inspired by everyone included in this project and can only hope that the copies of The Class will reach understanding hearts and minds.

A very special THANKS to...
Tiffany Breeden/Bamboo Sky for supporting this vision. I love you!
Nana Fujise/Seastar 8.4.23 for trusting me even if we met only recently. You're so great :)
Mellie Tjoeng for truly inspiring me this year. I absolutely adore you and can't wait to see you again <3
Harold Julian for always delivering the best goods a photographer can deliver.
Nalani Ravelo...you are so BADASS. I want to work with you ALL THE TIME.
Zairrah for giving me amazing hair & makeup at every single shoot ever in history of life.
Reise Kochi you're amazing.
Virginia Paresa...capsule collection sounds great, doesn't it?
And of course, Josh Dulatre. My work, this project, would not be anywhere near as gratifying without you!

Anyway...here's a peak into the content featured throughout. Stay tuned so you too can find your copy at a participating retailer!

I'm a very big fan of collaboration, especially when teaming up with someone who captures moments so beautifully. And of course this means I'm talking about photographer, Mellie Tjoeng.

During her brief stay on O'ahu a couple months ago, I was lucky enough to collaborate with her on a shoot at the amazingly frozen-in-time hotel she was staying at! Teaming up with hair&makeup artist, Zairrah, and my perpetual muse/model Momoko Metzker, we got to create a lovely story that juxtaposed the nostalgic setting of the hotel against more modern clothing.

Please enjoy! If you want a copy, I'm pretty sure you can get in a good read of it at The Manifest (and of course get Hawaii's best chai latte).

I could not sing of higher praises for the woman behind these photos. There is an easy-going spirit that radiates from her and a calming gentleness much alike that of the moon's power to mollify the harsh seas. Ultimately a force of awe-inspiring stories through both her real life and the life she creates in images...to say that I am an admirer would be infinitely understated.

Mellie Tjoeng, whom I've been able to work with three times during her stay here in Hawaii, has changed me. It sounds premature to say such a grand statement seeing as I just met her this month, but the way I think about photography, life, creation, and camaraderie have all been tweaked on a soulful scale. It is breathing in new life and it is a subtle shifting of internal gears and it is a change that can only be looked upon when you've sat behind a desk, flipped through pages of the work she's created, and think...Why did she want to work with me?

Truly humbled and overjoyed that I've been able to meet and work with the photographer, Mellie Tjoeng...but even more ecstatic that I am able to call her both a colleague and an eternal friend. I am in love with her work, her words, her stories, and what she gives to people. These qualities in an artist don't seem to come around too often, but I am so thankful that she has come into my life.
