I finally got a chance to stop in at Homecoming located in the heart of Chinatown! The buzz around town about this newly opened boutique has only been positive and after meeting the owner, Emilie, I have only nice things to say about it too! There's an array of casual tops, shorts, dresses by Mink Pink, Lush, UNIF, and so much more that you're kind of guaranteed to walk out with something amazing. There's definitely a bit of an edge at Homecoming, as they stock Jeffrey Campbell's version of Noritaka Tatehana's backless shoe made famous by Lady Gaga, along with a lace cut-out dress with a corset back by UNIF! Though everything boils down to Emilie's personal style; trendy, flirty, fun, but with an emphasis on CHIC. But even if you're not too edgy of a dresser, you're bound to find something to fit your personal style. Owner, Emilie, of Homecoming with her adorable mascot, NACHO! Thank you Emilie for being so welcoming on my first visit. Homecoming is a wonderful addition to all the downtown shops and I can't wait to see all the new exciting things that you'll bring! And on a side note: if Nacho goes missing I think you'll know who took him. To learn more about Homecoming, please contact/visit: Address:1191 Bethel Street Honolulu, HI Ph: 536-6000 FB: CLICK HERE Aspiring male model, Wayne West, has striking resemblance to 'Edward Cullen' (I swear I've never seen Twiilight) but has his sights set sinking his teeth into print work instead of your neck. We told him to jump and scream...so he did. Decked out in threads available at Noteworthy, Club Monaco, Basique Threads, and Collins&8th...it's no wonder why he looks so fresh and so clean (clean). Everyone look out for Wayne! CLICK HERE for a behind-the-scenes look at Wayne's testshoot. I wasn't sure if you were ready for this jelly, but I digress. Also, CLICK HERE to see the entire spread if you haven't done so already... What a long, exhausting, tedious, and yet FUN day I had with the Pacific Basin family! I got to be their fashion editor again for a (what will be) colorful swim/beach/resort shopping ad for Ala Moana Magazine. Special thanks to Brie, Tiffany, Stacey, Christi, and David for being the so welcoming! It was such fun working with y'all again. Anyway, enjoy this behind-the-scenes look at what'll come for you in July. Also...try and guess what each item is and who it's by! Special points for the person that gets it all right :) Artwork by Sergio Garzon Today I got to stop by my friend Bradley's store, Barrio Vintage, located in Chinatown. The concept of vintage and retro clothing for Barrio has evolved so much since it started, but the focus has always been the same; giving Hawaii a one-stop-shop for great and affordable retro/vintage finds. Considering Bradley used to be the buyer for Buffalo Exchange in Arizona, it's no wonder that he's able to supply us all with so many adorable things! Eye Spy...Bradley! "I mean..." *Left: Me || Right: Not me...but Artwork by Nick Georgiou* Expanding its selection, Barrio Vintage also has shoes, bags, accessories (belts, jewelry, suspenders, etc), and most recently, artwork, available for purchase. If you haven't had a chance to peak in to the shop, please do. There are tons of things for everyone AND with everything priced so reasonably low...you're bound to find something great. Barrio Vintage 1160 Nuuanu Ave. Honolulu, HI 98617 Shirt, Band of Outsiders || T-shirt, T by Alexander Wang || Hat, Brixton || Cuff, Diesel || Horse, Jade Dynasty || What a friendly horse! I've been acquainted with Kwannam Chu's work before, but somehow stumbled upon his adorable blog WE COULD GROW UP TOGETHER. First of all, it goes without saying that his photography is amazing...but his personal style is dually amazing; like a modern dandy with hints of feminine flair. Anyway, enjoy a short compilation of his work and try to tell me you're not in love by the end of it. So this is what I wore on my last day of work. I got a couple of awkward/questionable stares, but really...I just wanted to have fun on my last day! To me that means putting on your favorite leather necklace with a big black hat. I wish I could give you Amish realness everyday, but that would require a horse and carriage for which I simply don't have the funds. Also...if you hadn't noticed, my hair is back to black! Hat, Zara || Blazer, H&M || Shirt, Band of Outsiders || Jeans, J. Crew || Necklace, Zana Bayne || Satchel, Billy Kirk || I got a chance to check out to newly opened T.J. Maxx, but didn't get to stay too long because their were too many Maxxinistas running around! Instead I found myself on the top floor of the parking garage for a mini photo-op! And let me just tell you that even though you have an almost entirely white ensemble on, the fierceness of the Hawaiian sun will cut through it and burn you alive anyway. Okay, I'm being dramatic...but still, today was hot! If any of you were wondering as to why I quit my day job...it's as simple as this: Do more of what you love. It's time to really devote my time to what I love to do. It's time to create amazing stories through fashion and make people feel confident in the clothes they're in. Let's do this people! Who's with me? |
